Forever 03:07
FOREVER Cassie Josephine forever forever forever forever Why’d you give the stars to me? I still can only see them. What’s it like to know that you have cradled all your love beneath them? I should have known from experience how to make a happy home. So answer this star-gazer before the night has come and gone, has come and gone... forever forever forever forever But mama I know you like a poem-- there’s nothin’ hidin’ up your sleeve. You cradled me in starlight but you can’t stop this day and night for me. I should have known from experience how to solve this mystery. Maybe the stars, they know something that I don’t about me. And that’s the lonely thing about forever forever forever forever forever forever forever forever

The Price 03:22
THE PRICE Cassie Josephine I was young and went to school and fell in love and lost it all. I got a job that paid the bills and had a child and she grew up. I learned a lot about life and love. How can you not? I bought a car and drove right across Canada. I met the best friend I ever had in Winona. We tried to forget about life and love. How can you not? And it’s all just a jumble now. I want you to take me out. Remember my blue dress And those shoes, they made this sound? I don’t think you need to be so quiet around this old heart. Heart. My nanna told me she fell in love not once, but twice. She said loss was finding your own good advice. She said that growin’ old was the price. She remembers what my dress reminds her of. She said turn the music up And take these slippers off. I don’t think you need to be so quiet around this old heart.

I DON’T WANT TO GO ANYWHERE Cassie Josephine The hour is fairweather, it never really knows the time-- In its eking lime it tells me, You don’t wanna go anywhere. You don’t wanna go anywhere. You don’t wanna go anywhere. You don’t wanna go anywhere. The day’s a place you go without much pause. And the evenin’ is a shadow on its ship. Ferryin’ from the island to the shore. The day becomes the evenin’ once more. And I don’t wanna go anywhere. I don’t wanna go anywhere. I don’t wanna go anywhere. I don’t wanna go anywhere. It’s an overcast goodbye to PEI. My heart could burst over Brudenell. I’m drivin’ astern past the welcome sign. Rewind. Rewind. Rewind. ‘cause I don’t wanna go anywhere. I don’t wanna go anywhere. I don’t wanna go anywhere. I don’t wanna go anywhere.

August Man 02:19
AUGUST MAN Cassie Josephine I want to hold on to this like a Nova Scotia summer. They come and they go so quick. Be my mid-august water-- all year long. I’ve made my bed like the ice it is thick. I’ve gotten used to the winter. I’ve kicked the seas off of me in my dreams and rolled out of bed like a lover-- undone. It’s not a dream anymore but I cannot handle the flood. If you want to keep me warm, be my mid-August man-- all year long.

THROUGH THE BLUE Cassie Josephine Hmmm It’s so nice to hum along to an old familiar song— pack up my lunch and turn off the stereo. Nothin here says stay and nothin here says go. But later on tonight there’ll be a flicker of light and I will think that I saw a glimpse of you through the blue. I’ll stay for you and I’ll go too. Hmmm I wonder if I have the kind of heart that knows how to keep the time. Is it savin’ up or is it runnin’ out? What if I pack up my bag and I leave a note? Well later on tonight there’ll be a flicker of light. And I will think that I saw a glimpse of you through the blue. I’ll stay for you and I’ll go too. I’ll stay for you and I’ll go too, through the blue.

RED DIRT MORNING Gabriel Minnikin On that red dirt morning, packed a wagon. Boarded a boat, sailed from that Island. In a schackled sea, shook us in the east. Waves in the wind, at our feet So sing me… Sing me the blues. The shade was a secret the sun wouldn’t share. Colour of night, was her hair. And those burnt bones mingled, by-and-by. Hand holdin daydreams, throughout the night. So sing me… Sing me the blues. The journey was over at the bottom of the stairs. Vultures hovered in the air. Pale and imperfect was left behind In this darkness, I will shine So sing me... Sing me the blues.

ST. GENEVIEVE Gabriel Minnikin Quicker than a sailor on shore leave The guilt got greater, you can believe Being taken in every direction All breaking perfect perfection I'll serenade those who surrendered Wave the white flag All ravished and rendered Salivating snarls dispersed their luck Opened to one from every flock Bound to will, stirred in regrets Lost in a salt chuck of forgets I'll serenade those who surrendered Wave the white flag All ravished and rendered.

GOOD LISTENER Gabriel Minnikin ooo, ooo, ooo Under that dim, drunk, city moon on the other side of cool he wants to lay down beside her. He heard her twice the first time when she said your place or mine. He ain’t the first good listener. A shoulder to cry on, and alcohol. She’ll have his ear until last call. Just friends, just ex lovers. He’s eager to sympathize but she can’t see it in his lies. Off she goes with a good listener. As for me, I’m no-one's best friend. It’s my own fault to wind up broken. At the bottom, there ain’t far to fall. I'll be in the corner with my back against the wall. oooooooooooo As for me, I’m know ones best friend. It’s my own fault to notice the trend. At the bottom, there ain’t far to fall. I'll be in the corner with my back against the wall. Under that dim, drunk, city moon

PRINCESS OF BELLAIRE Gabriel Minnikin I woke up this morning and you were in my arms again. First the bathroom, then the kitchen, coffee and tea in bed. A cat's call, I'll move swiftly, he's crying, at the door. I'll do it so I can be swallowed by your warmth. The wind it blows, it's sneaking up the stairs. Without our clothes, without a care. ohhhhhhhhhhhhh oh oh, what a pair. The clock ticks, mere minutes we have left to spend. If we were able, would we gamble on the fables of time to lend? Get ready for that white street, the snow has fallen throughout the night. Grab a hat, your lunch is packed, its already quarter to nine. The wind it blows, its sneaking up the stairs. Like a casino rose, that came from out of nowhere. Ohhhhhhhhhhhh oh, what a pair. No Tupelo Honey Suckle, but you can hold my hand. Just hanging fickle shadows from the winter skies ceiling. We must part, as our days start in two cities and one bridge. My heart is full, bold and beautiful, bursting with brilliance! The wind it blows, its sneaking up the stairs. What no-one knows is she's the princess of the princess of... BelleAire Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh BelleAire oh what a pair.

MAID OF HONOR Gabriel Minnikin She came into my room, to make sure I was alright. She knew where I was and what I was doing last night. Sounds from behind that hotel room door. Uncertain unfaithfulness to settle a score. She’s the maid, the maid of honor. My fate laid upon her. It was late to bed and early to rise. The ring on my finger caught her surprised. Secrets with strangers over sweat stained sheets. Guilty by the glances that she’s giving me. She’s the maid, the maid of honor My fate laid upon her. Curtains were drawn as if nothing ever happened. the night moon was gone, leaving love as its weapon. In the haze of a broken heart, surrendered to spite. She knew where I was and what I was doing last night. She’s the maid, the maid of honor My fate laid upon her.
